Meet Chef George!

Chef George Vogel – A Culinary Visionary and Founder of DAGGZ Authentic Sauces
Chef George Vogel is an experienced culinary professional with over 40 years in the industry. He is
renowned for his innovative flavor combinations and dedication to culinary excellence. Throughout
his distinguished career, he has worked in various settings, including fine dining, luxury hospitality,
and corporate food services. His journey has led to the establishment of DAGGZ Authentic Sauces,
a family-owned and veteran-owned business that offers bold and layered flavors for gourmet
barbecue.
Chef George began his culinary journey as a Culinary Specialist 2nd Class in the United States
Navy, serving from 1984 to 1988. During this time, he honed his skills by cooking for the captain and
various foreign dignitaries. After completing his military service, he graduated magna cum laude
from The New York Restaurant School in 1989. While attending school, he interned at the renowned
Bouley Restaurant in New York City, which was the top-rated four-star restaurant in the country at
that time. There, he gained invaluable experience working under celebrated chefs David Bouley, Eric
Ripert, and Craig Shelton.
Throughout his career, Chef George worked alongside renowned culinary figures, including Eric
Ripert, Craig Shelton, David Bouley, and Dennis Foy, holding esteemed roles including:

Chef George expanded his culinary skills at Disney’s Artist Point Restaurant in Disney’s Wilderness
Lodge and at the prestigious Victoria & Albert’s in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, where he played
a key role in creating unforgettable dining experiences.
Afterward, Chef George transitioned to corporate food services in Florida, serving as an Executive
Chef for over a dozen years. In this role, he oversaw operations and crafted exceptional menus for a
diverse range of clients. This phase of his career further solidified his reputation as a versatile and
highly skilled culinary leader.
In 2019, Chef George founded DAGGZ Authentic Sauces, showcasing his lifelong passion for
creating exceptional flavors. These handcrafted, high-quality sauces have become a staple in over
100 retail locations, including more than 70 Ace Hardware stores across Florida. They provide
gourmet barbecue solutions for both home cooks and food enthusiasts.
